Living in Québec means living in a democratic francophone society offering many advantages:

* a low cost of living;
* accessible education and health services;
* spacious and affordable housing;
* a secure living environment and
* an environment full of cultural attractions.

The Province of Quebec is the largest Canadian province in size and is second after Ontario in population.

The Quebec government and the Government of Canada have an agreement that allows Quebec to select immigrants who best meet its immigration needs. Under the Canada-Quebec Accord on Immigration, Quebec is able to establish its own immigration requirements and select immigrants who will adapt well to living in Quebec.

To come to Canada as a Quebec Skilled Worker, you must first apply to the Quebec government for a Certificat de Sélection du Québec (CSQ). After been selected by Quebec, you have to make a separate application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for permanent residence. A Visa Officer will assess your application based on Canadian immigration regulations. However, it should be noted that Quebec Skilled Workers are not assessed on the six selection factors of the Federal Skilled Workers Program. Should you wish to see if you could be eligible for a Certificat de Sélection du Québec, we invite you to complete our free assessment form.

Quebec skilled workers are expected to have the skills, education, work experience, language ability and other qualities needed to find a job in Canada. Though those do not guarantee an immigrant a job in Canada they can secure successful immigration to Canada.

Most Quebec skilled worker applicants are required to attend a selection interview with an immigration officer. Such interviews are held to ensure the information in the application is accurate, to verify documentation, and to help applicants relocate to the Province of Quebec. Interview waivers are granted at the discretion of the immigration officials.
